Vectoraster is a graphics utility for creating vector-based raster patterns and halftones based on bitmap images. The raster patterns and point shapes can be freely configured to produce different styles. The resulting rasters can then either be exported to an EPS, PDF or TIFF-file or simply copied into most graphics software.
Vectoraster 3 is shareware and you can download it and try it for free, but with some limitations. To remove these limitations you have to register and pay for the application.
Features
– Create point rasters or linerasters.
– Many configurable point shape types, from circles to polygons or custom shapes from imported EPS-files.
– Use characters as point shapes from any installed font, using a specified text to select the characters.
– Five configurable raster pattern types, including alternating grid, radial and varied density distribution.
– Four raster distortion modes to twist, bulge, wave or split the raster pattern.
– Copy raster curves straight into most other vector graphics software.
– Vector export to EPS or PDF, bitmap TIFF export.
– Set raster point color or use color from the primary or secondary source image.
– Universal application.
Requirements
Mac OS X 10.4 or later
PS. this has been posted as per recommendation…
the thing i like the most about it, its very light when starting up compared to adobe illustrator. but, off course its not as pro as adobe…
nice, as a matter of fact, I haven’t downloaded nor used it…I kinda shared it upon my brother’s recommendation for the software…glad that you’ve found it useful.
you know what else is an excellent tool? GIMP, really powerfull and too light to be true!
I kinda browsed the GIMP site and the really cool thing about it is that it’s FREE! =) plus I loved the little cute fox face, i.e. the GIMP logo!
It has a very strong image editing potentials…
Are you saying you are hearing about GIMP for the first time? Oh GIMP is the number one image processing in the open source world. At first, it was very narrowed to Linux/Unix lovers but now it spread to all OS’s.
Awe I see, and yeah, it was my first time hearing of it…My bad!
