Recently I've received many requests asking me how did I get the eGO device to run on Leopard. so, here is the steps in the simplest way possible.
1. First of all, remove the SIM card from your eGO device and insert the SIM into your mobile phone. Then, according to your phone model you have to disable the PIN code authentication at the beginning. If you don't do this step successfully you won't be able to connect.
2. You will need to download the driver, you can do so from Zain website (here) or from KwtMac (here).
3. Once downloaded the driver, extract the files inside and you will see the following files eGOApp.zip, eGOconfigurationguide.doc, eGODriver.gz.
4. Click on eGODriver.gz to extract its content, its will create the following folder HuaweiDataCardDriver-2.7
5. Open it, and start installing the package you require if you are on Intel or PowerPC.
6. Once you are done from the installation, plug in your eGo device and wait until the blinking light on your eGO turn from green to blue.
7. Now, go and run eGOApp.zip its will extract another file HuaweiDataCardApp
8. Run HuaweiDataCardApp, write hspps and hit configure.
9. Exit the HuaweiDataCardApp
10. Now, go to System Preferences then to Network on the left side you will see a new port appeared "Huawei"
11. Click on it, and go to advanced, at Vendor choose "Other" and then at Model choose "HUAWEI Mobile Connect - 3G Modem"
12. Click Ok, and then write *99# in the "Telephone Number" and write hspps in both "Account name" and "Password"
Another way to do this is by using Nokia default modem, here is the steps for that
7. Now, go to System Preferences then to Network on the left side you will see a new port appeared "Huawei"
8. Click on it, and go to advanced, at Vendor choose "Nokia" and then at Model choose "GPRS (GSM/3G)" and write hspps in the APN field
9. Click Ok, and then write *99# in the "Telephone Number" and write hspps in both "Account name" and "Password"
Finally, if things doesn't work out for you post your questions here and hopefully someone will get to your query soon.
