AirTalkr

Few days back I got an SMS from Mr.boSaud about something that really grabbed my attention. Adobe are launching a new line of cross platform (operating systems) environment, Its called AIR Runtime and it can be downloaded freely from adobe labs website here. I didn't go in details about the Adobe Air but the most interesting part I read so far that applications developed using Adobe Air are some how written using HTML, Ajax, Flash and Adobe Flex and the result will be a desktop applications. Unlike the Java runtime environment which require you to code your application using Java.

The photo attached in this article is for AirTalkr application, I downloaded earlier and its not that bad. The application is very simple it allow you to access your IM (Yahoo, MSN, Google talk) also it has another tab in which you can list youtube video's, search them and watch them without having to launch your web browser. You can also click here for a whole list of available applications so far and most of them you can download and start using freely.

Is this an independent OS beta version or hmmm, an semi OS environment in the way of themes and functionality…?!

Hmm I don’t know if you can call it OS.. but, this is basically a virtual machine that means if a developer works on a specific application he will be able to run the application on a cross-platform where ever the AIR Runtime can be installed. so far, the AIR Runtime can be installed on Mac, windows, linux or even a mobile device:).. so, its pretty much an independent environment.
